INDIANAPOLIS -Dozens of faith leaders from across Indianapolis came together to stand against violence and hate.

Forty-nine candles were lit in honor of the 49 victims of the Orlando shooting. The clergy also stand in unison on the controversial gun debate, saying it's time to find a solution to guns getting in the hands of the wrong people.

"We can have common sense gun control. We can do more background checks. We can have background checks any time a gun is bought," said Stephen Carlsen. "Military assault rifles have no place in our community. We can restrict access to those guns."

Thursday's event was co-sponsored by the Indianapolis Congregation Action Network, the largest multi-faith and multi-racial organization in the state.
