What We Do

The Indianapolis Congregation Action Network (IndyCAN) develops people of faith at the grassroots level into leaders who can achieve power for positive change.

Through constant communication with tens of thousands of people from more than 20 member congregations across Central Indiana, IndyCAN is deeply rooted in the stories of our people and our shared faith values.

Our leaders connect community organizations with civic and political leaders. Together, we are building relationships, identifying common concerns, finding solutions and taking action to improve the quality of life and expanding opportunity for all of Indianapolis’ families — especially the most vulnerable.

By working together, we expand the human capacity of our citizens, turning individuals into a collaborative, organized movement of people with values and power — strong partners with public officials and policy makers who impact long-term, measurable systemic change.

IndyCAN is a non-partisan, multi-ethnic organization that is not aligned explicitly with any candidate or party. We do not endorse or support candidates for office. Instead, we develop our stances on state policies and systems based on our faith and values. Ultimately, we stand for equality, community and dignity for all.
